A sudden increase in the price of vehicles from today?

Globally pollution control is a major challenge. Vehicles play a major role in air pollution. Carbon dioxide emissions from vehicles are very damaging to the ozone layer. The central government is taking various measures to reduce the pollution caused by vehicles as it is impossible to live without vehicles.

Accordingly, the first phase of pollution control rules namely BS6 is in force. Following this, the central government plans to implement the second phase of BS6 regulations from April 1.

Every vehicle must be manufactured in accordance with this regulation to come into force. Due to this, many changes have to be made by the automobile manufacturing companies. The only difference between PS6 First Stage and PS6 Second Stage is real time monitoring. In the first stage of BS6 it is sufficient if the emission level of a vehicle is below the specified level when tested at the factory. The engine can be installed in the vehicle. But BS6 Phase II requires an engine to be fitted with real-time pollution monitoring equipment.

Accordingly, vehicles that go on sale after April will be equipped with this device. If more than the specified level of pollution comes out of the engine of the vehicle, the driver is immediately warned.

Take the vehicle to a service center and have the problem fixed. For this BS6-Phase II conversion, automakers need to change their engine if they want to change the hardware, software and semiconductors of the vehicle. This increases the production cost of the vehicle. This will be reflected in the price of the vehicle.

Many companies have already increased the prices of their vehicles. In case of passenger vehicles, the price will be increased by Rs 10,000 to Rs 50,000 depending on the engine size of the vehicle. Commercial vehicles will be hiked by up to 5 percent. Entry level vehicles are the most affected.

This hike is applicable not only for cars but also for all types of vehicles like two wheelers and 3 wheelers. The diesel engine is the engine that will take the biggest hit in changing the engine as this PS6 Stage 2 controller is fit for purpose. This monitoring tool is easy to use on large diesel engines. But it is difficult to use in small diesel engines. The cost for this is high.

Due to this, many companies have completely stopped the diesel engine in the vehicles that come with a small diesel engine. It sells only petrol engines. The diesel engine variants of Honda Amaze, Tata Ultraz, Mahindra Marazzo and Hyundai i20 will be completely discontinued from April 1.

In order to reduce air pollution in the country, the use of 15-year-old public transport vehicles and 20-year-old private utility vehicles has been banned. The ban will come into effect from April 1.

For this, 15-year-old vehicles used in central government offices are being scrapped and new vehicles are being purchased. However, the Tamil Nadu government has not taken any such decision. If this law is implemented, lakhs of vehicles including government and private buses, trucks, vans, taxis and autos will have to be destroyed.

In this regard, rental car owners said: Taxes, petrol and diesel prices have increased sharply in Tamil Nadu. Due to this, the transport sector has been affected a lot. If you get a bank loan to buy a vehicle, it takes more than 10 years; Only then does the owner own the vehicle.

In this case, if this law is implemented immediately, the vehicle owners will face a heavy loss. If this law goes into effect, many people will be forced out of the rental car business. Likewise, the financial condition of the Tamil Nadu government is also bad.

In this case, if the obsolete buses are destroyed and new buses are bought, there will be a huge economic loss. As is already the case, the old vehicles in the government offices are auctioned and the remaining amount is paid with the proceeds, and new vehicles cannot be purchased. They say that not only the private sector but also the government will be severely affected.
