Time.news – Irgenre, a group that has been operating for over 25 years in the construction and management of shopping centers in Southern Italy, has received a € 90 million loan from a pool of Italian banks for the construction of the largest tourism and retail hub in the South, the Maximall Pompeii. The pool of banks, which saw UniCredit act as Agent Bank and Mandated Lead Arranger, is then made up of Banco Bpm, Intesa Sanpaolo and Mps Capital Services. The Maximall Pompeii was conceived as a multifunctional tourist hub and will rise in Torre Annunziata, near the archaeological area of Pompeii, in the province of Naples.

The end of the works is expected by the end of 2022, while the opening will take place in March 2023. Maximall Pompeii, which when fully operational will be able to generate about 1,500 direct and indirect jobs, will be the natural continuation of the Archaeological Excavations, the destination of over 4 million tourists every year. The Maximall Pompeii will be built on an area of about 200,000 square meters and will host, in addition to numerous services, about 200 brands distributed on two levels among the most important national and international brands. The complex will also include a 4-star hotel managed under the Marriott Bonvoy brand with 135 rooms, a multimedia auditorium with approximately 1,100 seats, on approximately 3,000 square meters, intended to accommodate film screenings, theatrical performances, conferences and exhibitions, 30 restaurants spread over 3,000 square meters, an external square-amphitheater for events of about 6,500 square meters from which to admire every day the breathtaking spectacle offered by the dancing fountain whose jet exceeds 25 meters in height, a second internal multimedia square of about 800 square meters and, finally, a parking of 5,000 parking spaces and 30 tourist buses.

Furthermore, the Maximall Pompeii will be surrounded by an urban park equipped and open to the public of about 50,000 square meters to which will be added an unprecedented coverage of about 6,000 square meters totally green and equipped, where a large leisure area will be created. “The importance of this loan – says Paolo Negri, CEO of Irgenre – goes far beyond the purely financial aspect. Maximall Pompeii and the trust given by the pool of banks to this initiative, which is worth more than 170 million euros in total. investments, will allow not only to accelerate the urban redevelopment process of an area rich in natural and landscape beauties, but it is also the realization of a project that, thanks to its strategic position, will also be able to intercept the flows coming from all over the surrounding area, which goes from Naples to the Sorrento Coast, with a forecast of annual visitors that in Campania (and in the South in general) has no equal “.
