A thief carrying narcotic drugs was arrested in Benghazi

Al-Orouba Police Station in the municipality of Benghazi arrested a person who stole a recording device from a motor vehicle, and was in possession of a quantity of narcotic drugs.

The Benghazi Security Directorate said, in a statement published on its Facebook page, “The arrest operation was carried out under the supervision of the head of the Orouba Police Station, Colonel Jadallah Madi, during the presence of a patrol belonging to the station, in one of the areas within its geographical jurisdiction, after the members of the patrol saw two people who had an altercation. One of them tried to escape verbally.”

She continued: “Immediately, members of the patrol moved to the scene of the incident and arrested the two people. It became clear that one of them was in an abnormal condition. When the other person was asked, he reported that he saw the person who had a verbal altercation stealing a tape recorder from inside a white Michi vehicle. Upon searching the suspect, he found He was in possession of the vehicle’s registration card, as well as 29 hallucinogenic tablets.”

According to the directorate, “In investigating the accused after the substances he had taken had taken effect, it became clear that he was called M. s. H. was born in 1996. He admitted to taking hallucinogenic pills and to the theft incident, and it also turned out that he was caught in a previous theft incident in 2023.”

The Directorate indicated that the accused was placed in the center’s legal custody, in preparation for presenting him to the Public Prosecution.
