A first suspect had first been arrested and then exonerated. Security at the Guillotière is a subject of heated controversy – particularly concerning the strengthening of the municipal police and the installation of video protection cameras – between the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin and the Lyon environmentalist mayor Grégory Doucet. The two men are due to meet in Lyon on September 5 to discuss the situation.
