Two more medals were won by the Bulgarian athletes from the Taekwondo tournament “Skopje Ramus Open” with rank G1 for men.

This year, a record number of athletes participated in the event – over 1,000 competitors from 40 countries, which ranks it as one of the largest sports events in the Republic of North Macedonia. The competition for the second year in a row is organized by the Bulgarian club “Ramus” and its chairman Dimitar Mihailov, together with the Macedonian Taekwondo Federation.

On the second day of the competition, Hristiyan Georgiev took the silver medal. In the final in the 54 kilogram category, the competitor of the Akhil club lost to Maksim Manenkov (Ukraine), who won the title in the competition and is the world youth champion from the championship in Sofia in 2022.

In the 68-kilogram category, Bozhidar Avramov finished in third place. In the semi-finals, the alumnus of the club organizer Ramus was unable to overcome the resistance of the representative of the hosts and winner of the category Draga Dugach, who is a medalist of European championships and ranking tournaments.

The participation in the competition of the local star Dean Georgievski caused exceptional interest. The Olympic runner-up from the Tokyo 2020 Games triumphed in the category over 87 kilograms, defeating the multiple medalist of open tournaments and European championships El Omar Yazidi (France) in the final.

The Bulgarian competitors finished their participation in the “Skopje Ramus Open” with 11 awards – 2 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze.
