A Toulousain invents the Bibock, an outdoor game of skill

by time news

It’s a mixture of petanque and Breton puck that could become the game of the summer. A native of Toulouse, an industrial designer by training, invented Bibock, an outdoor game of skill combining luck and talent to win the game.

Originally, Geoffrey Esnault created this game for his 30th birthday, to play with friends. “I wanted to mark this celebration by bringing together my family and my friends from Toulouse. Seeing pieces of wood in my garage, I imagined the Bibock, he says. We used it all weekend and following this birthday, my friends kept asking me for the game. When I became a father and my company proposed a voluntary departure plan, I wanted to change and take the plunge by officially launching the Bibock”.

Between two and eight people can participate in a game of Bicbock. The objective is to throw his bock or puck as close as possible to the master bock, the equivalent of a jack, while managing to stay on the color of his team. The victory is acquired by scoring sixteen points or by winning all the bocks.

After seven months developing his project, Geoffrey Esnault traveled across France to find a manufacturer, in the Loire. The packaging is made in the Gers and the printing of the game in Toulouse. The entrepreneur has just closed a crowdfunding campaign where he collected 6,000 euros, in particular to create his website and launch the first Bibock, sold for 39.99 euros.

Orders are possible from this Monday, July 18. The Toulousain will present his game at Toulouse Plage this summer.
