A Toulouse woman creates absorbent pajamas for children who wet the bed

Waterproof pajamas for children and teenagers suffering from bedwetting. It is the invention of a Toulouse woman, Dalila Barhoumi, mother of four children, two of whom suffer from this inability to control the urge to pee at night. Tired of washing sheets and putting her children in diapers to avoid accidents, she created absorbent pajamas called Peelou. To develop its innovation, it launched a crowdfunding campaign on Ulule until April 16 to raise 5,000 euros.

Objective: “to make life easier for parents”

“It makes children feel guilty to wear diapers they consider for babies and I have already tested absorbent pajamas made in China or the United States but there were always leaks, says Dalida Barhoumi, who previously worked in the ‘hotel. So I decided to make effective pajamas that would be comfortable to wear. The idea is to restore children’s confidence and make life easier for parents”. Accompanied by the program Les Déterminés, the mother of the family worked for seven months to develop Peelou, her cotton and Tencel pajama set, consisting of a top, a bottom with a waterproof bottom and a boxer. In the kangaroo pocket, several layers of bamboo micro-sponges absorb urine in case of uncontrolled peeing.

This night set is reusable the next day after going through the washing machine. It’s like other clothes, it dries in 24 hours. Available in sizes S, M and L, the pajamas are sold for 99 euros for pre-order. It will be manufactured in Portugal and the first deliveries are scheduled for July. With the money raised on Ulule, Dalila Barhoumi wants to build up a stock and launch marketing on her website. In France, approximately 500,000 children over the age of 5 suffer from enuresis.
