College student hangs herself in Thiruvekkat. The parents said that action should be taken against the person responsible for their daughter’s suicide.
Udayakumar and Uma are a couple from Tiruvekadu, Karumariamman Nagar area. They have a daughter Srinidhi (19) and a son. In this case, Srinidhi was studying in the second year of a private college in Chennai. Uma woke up as usual yesterday morning. Then he was shocked to see his daughter Srinidhi hanging herself in the nearby room.
Thiruvekadu police was informed about this. After receiving the information, the police went to the spot, recovered the body of Srinidhi who had committed suicide and sent it to Kilpakkam Government Hospital for post-mortem.
The parents of the student who committed suicide said that the owner of the rented house in which she was already living was responsible for her daughter’s suicide. After this, the parents of the student said near the police station… We had already settled in the house of Vinod-Revathy on rent in Tiruvekadu, Sivashankar Nagar area. Due to a family problem, we bought two pounds of jewelry from Revathi and pawned it. Now we have vacated that house and are renting another house.
In this case, Vinod came home and asked that we have bought seven pounds worth of jewelery from his wife. However, we informed them that they had bought only two pounds of jewelry, but Vinod reported to the Tiruvekkadu police that he had bought seven pounds of jewelry. On this complaint, the Thiruvekadu police took everyone to the police station and interrogated them.
Because of this, our daughter hanged herself because she was worried that her family would be arrested by the police. Her parents said their daughter told a police officer on her cell phone about their case before committing suicide. Following this, the police have confiscated the son’s cell phone, and they said that the police officer who spoke to his daughter should be investigated and action should be taken against the person responsible for her daughter’s suicide. Thiruvekadu police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
