The train that covered the Madrid Puerta de Atocha-Huelva route has suffered a delay after being wrongly routed towards Malaga. The train, which left Madrid at 6:05 p.m., has added 30 minutes to its usual route due to a mistake that Adif attributes to a change in route.
The Alvia train circulated regularly to Córdoba, where the fork that distributes traffic to Seville, Cádiz and Huelva, and to Málaga and Granada is located. It was here that he followed a “different route than usual.” As Europa Press reports from Adif, the detour was detected “immediately”, so the transport had to go back to the fork to finally follow “the correct route”. This entire process resulted in a 30-minute delay in the travelers’ arrival at their destination.
José Luis García Palacios, president of the Onubese Federation of Entrepreneurs (FOE) and member of the Commission to promote infrastructure needs in the province, has once again regretted this incident, pointing out that “it is shameful” that “they have us mired in the absolute ostracism in railway matters”. Palacios added that “the citizens of Huelva do not deserve this treatment and this contempt and this profound disregard for the province and I believe that citizens must stand up and say this is as far as we have come.”
“The driver has finished his day”
It is not the first incident that Renfe has suffered in recent weeks. On March 28, several dozen people were forced to abandon the train they were traveling on. Half an hour after reaching its final destination, the train stopped in Sahagún (León). After being detained for 20 minutes, the conductor explained to the travelers that “it is not going to start. León does not allow trains.”
It was through the screens that they learned the real reason why they remained stopped, and that is that as it could be read, “the driver has finished his workday.” Finally, the driver and passengers had to be transported to León through several buses.
