Matthew Lopez’s film on Prime Video is a glamorous and vintage photo novel that slips into the banal

Why is there so much talk about Red, White & Blue Blood, Matthew Lopez’s film on Prime Video? Because it’s a romantic fairy tale conjugated in passionate gay pride, between two handsome and important guys who feel the weight of power.

This is the nephew of the English royals, Henry, puppy of the monarchy with the weight of tradition behind him and who knows what punishments history is capable of; and Alex, son of the first American president up for re-election. So love is complicated, but there is also the first woman in the White House. The story, which alternates ardent love scenes with royal parties with champagne, always with the evil media lurking in Casey McQuiston’s novel, I don’t think is very profound. The stages are booked, the optimistic ending invites a toast to a civilized world, since people are ahead of politicians and generals. All right, a trivial glamor mixture in which the fable-like rate is so high that it borders on the vintage photo-novel. And mother Uma Thurman, when her son confesses to be bisexual, says to him: but then you are the B of the Lgbtq acronym …
