A two-headed calf is considered a sign of good luck

by time news

The calf was born on January 24 with two skulls conjoined on one neck. The animal has 4 eyes, two mouths and two noses.

The clip, filmed on January 29 at a farm in Roi Et province, shows the calf being stroked by its owner. People here consider the animal a sign of luck and prosperity. The little “monster” can function normally but needs help to lift its heavy head.

The calf’s owner, Belle Chittaraporn, said: “I hope the calf is not in any pain. It’s strange but true. It actually has two heads and four eyes.

We are taking care of it the best we can. It was lucky that the calf was born on the farm. We hope it will live much longer.”

Two-headed cow, also known as dicephalic cow or bocephalus, is an extremely rare birth defect in cattle. It occurs when the embryo divides incompletely during early development, resulting in the two heads sharing the same body.
