A Ukrainian cargo plane carrying eight crew members it crashed on the night of this Saturday in the city of Kavala, in northern Greece. The fatal impact was recorded in videos that went viral on social networks.
It is a aircraft of the Antonov company -whose headquarters are installed in Kiev-, which is dedicated to the manufacture of these vehicles and is a provider of aeronautical services.
According to the Civil Aviation authorities, the plane headed from Serbia to Jordan and was operated by the Meridian airline, which specializes in flights of this type.

Although the trip seemed to present no problems, different sources assured that minutes before the fall the pilot had reported a engine failure, so he requested authorization for an emergency landing.
Given this situation, from the control rooms they gave him two airport options: land at the one in the city of Thessaloniki or in Kavala. The latter was chosen, because it was the closest.
However, it did not manage to reach any of the runways, since one of its propellers caught fire and caused the ship to crash 40 kilometers west of the airport located in the aforementioned Greek city.
Based on the first information on the fact, eight crew members were traveling on the plane and at the moment both their status and what merchandise they were transporting are unknown.
The shocking moment was captured by a group of neighbors who from afar saw the moment in which the aircraft destabilized and fell in a matter of seconds, causing a great noise and a fire in the area.
Witnesses said they saw a ball of fire and heard several explosions after the plane went down, a fact that led them to speculate that they were carrying explosives.
Likewise, the information agency indicated that numerous fire rescue personnel, ambulances from the National Emergency Center (EKAB) and police officers are working at the scene, and that the area is in the dark due to a power outage.
