The UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) accused the Israeli army on Friday December 29 of having fired on one of its aid convoys in the Gaza Strip.
“Israeli soldiers fired on an aid convoy as it returned from northern Gaza, using a route designated by the Israeli army. Our international convoy leader and his team were not injured, but one vehicle was damaged,” UNRWA Gaza Director Thomas White said on X (formerly Twitter). “Aid workers should never be a target,” he added.

The attack took place Thursday afternoon, according to a source at UNRWA. Questioned by AFP, the Israeli army said it was “verifying” this information.

Furthermore, the head of UN humanitarian operations, Martin Griffiths, strongly criticized the conditions for delivering aid to Gaza. “Convoys targeted by fire. Delays at crossing points,” he wrote on X.
