Communal festival 2023 in Mukaza, Bujumbura: Day of solidarity and inaugurations for an ambitious socio-economic development vision
Bujumbura (Mukaza commune), 5/08/2023 – The economic capital of Burundi was the setting for a day in harmony with the country’s decentralization strategy. In the heart of the Boulevard de l’Indépendance, near the Intwari Stadium, significant events took place in the presence of personalities during the celebration of the 2023 municipal festival.
SATURDAY, M. Sindayihebura Rénovât, communal administrator of Mukaza, was alongside the imiryango of his locality to celebrate the 10th edition of the communal festival. Along with Mr. Hatungimana Jimmy, Police Brigadier General and Mayor of Bujumburaof Ambassador Maniratanga Zéphyrin, Permanent Representative of Burundi to the United Nations (UN)of Ambassador Gateretse-Ngoga Frederic, Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security of the African Union (AU), together with other eminent personalities, they participated in philanthropic actions, including the distribution of food to disabled children in the Kigwati district of Nyakabiga, where the center Heirs of the Cross. The day was also marked by the inauguration of the new building of the “Centre Jeunes NYAKABIGA”, symbol of commitment to the ambitious vision of the President of Burundi to make the country an emerging player by 2040 and a developed country by 2060.
The ceremony was enhanced by the presence of the heads of areas of the Mukaza commune, the communal secretary of the CNDD-FDD party, and the inhabitants of this locality. As a sign of solidarity, the residents organized a parade with food and drinks for the 10th edition of the communal festival. After highlighting local socio-economic achievements, the event was animated by the performances of the Akayazwe cultural group (drummers and dancers) as well as group of dancers from Buyenzi, who offered a demonstration of the Musondo dance, from Tanzania.
