A wire went into a subway line

A new tragedy almost happened on the railways, when on September 9, a Suburban train mistakenly entered the Metro line in Dukissis Placentia, according to a report from the Editors’ News.

The incident came to light from a document of the Panhellenic Union of Drawn Personnel (PEPE), and confirmed by the managing director of OSE, Panagiotis Terezakis, on Thursday morning (17/10).

According to Mr. Terezakis, who spoke to the Real FM radio station, “the station master gave the wrong order”, he said that he already had an order to remove him for retraining.

As he said, “the Metro probably should have come in at that time, but due to delays, the Suburban went ahead without changing the remote on the way. This happened 500 meters before the tunnel started.”

According to him, “the train driver crossed two traffic lights, which showed him that he was entering a subway line, and he did not stop and is being checked for this.” “The station master made the mistake when marking that he sent the train to the subway instead of the suburban. From the results of the retraining we will see where and if he will continue.”

He claimed, however, that the safety valves worked in the incident.
