Subramani, aged 54 and hailing from Budur, Karaipalayam next to Annur in Coimbatore district, is living alone with his wife Thangamani as their children are married. Thangamani is known to collect interest from the same area. However, when Subramani returned home after going out for his own work last evening, he found Thangamani lying dead in the kitchen of the house with her neck cut. Shocked by the discovery, Subramani raised an alarm and informed the nearby people who later contacted the Annoor police station. Upon arrival, the police collected clues with the help of sniffer dogs and forensic experts. It was subsequently revealed that the killers did not steal anything from the house and to conceal the signs of the murder, they spread chilli powder around the dead woman’s body before fleeing. The police have registered a case and seized the body for post-mortem examination.
