A woman denounces Dani Alves for sexually assaulting her

BarcelonaOn the penultimate night of 2022, December 30, the Mossos received a warning from the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona. A woman had warned local security that Brazilian footballer Dani Alves had sexually assaulted her with touches she had not consented to. The police went to the scene and began to investigate, taking statements from the victim and some witnesses. In recent days, the Mossos have continued to investigate the facts and have been in contact with the victim, also to accompany her psychologically. However, one step was missing: the formal complaint. As the ARA was able to learn from sources familiar with the investigation, the woman formalized a complaint against Dani Alves for sexual assault on Monday afternoon.

According to the same sources, Alves, who has played for Barça for nine years and is now in the ranks of Pumas de México, has not yet declared to the police. The police, however, are in contact with their lawyers and it is only a matter of hours before they do so. One of the unanswered questions is how he will do it, since right now the 39-year-old footballer is in Mexico, where he has rejoined the discipline of the team after playing in the World Cup in Qatar with Brazil and passing a few days in Barcelona.

Sources from the Alves area consulted by the newspaper Abc, who carried out the alleged assault, have confirmed that the footballer was in Sutton that night, but say that it was only a short time and that “nothing happened”. After alerting the nightclub, located on Calle Tuset in Barcelona, ​​the victim underwent a medical examination in a hospital in Barcelona and also gave a statement at the police station. But it wasn’t until three days later, on Monday, that he formalized the complaint against Alves to the police.
