The accident happened at 2:30 pm when a cleaning lady wanted to take the elevator to the fourth floor of the new complex where the “Innovation Campus” is located. The doors opened, but the elevator was not there, so the victim fell four floors down to the basement.

“Fortunately, one of our employees is active in the Red Cross and was a paramedic in the military,” commented Kat Vanrenterghem, Communications Director for Living Tomorrow. “While waiting for emergency services to arrive, he was able to provide first aid.”

The circumstances of such an accident have not yet been established. According to Living Tomorrow, the elevator was re-examined the day before. The Halle-Vilvoorde labor prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation.
