The event began when the Laval police received a call at 8:12 p.m. concerning a home invasion on rue Clémence, in the Fabreville sector, in Laval. Suspects broke into a home where a 26-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man were found.

An altercation broke out between the suspects and the victims. The assailants eventually managed to abduct the woman and fled with her in a Land Rover vehicle. The man remained behind with minor, non-life-threatening injuries.

The authorities were able to locate the vehicle on the other side of the Mille-Îles River, in Boisbriand, and rescue the young woman unharmed. Two suspects have been apprehended and will be interviewed by investigators. The reasons for the abduction are currently unknown.

Two crime scenes will be studied as part of this investigation which has just begun, that of the Laval home and that of the vehicle in Boisbriand. The victims, who were both taken to hospital, will also be interviewed by investigators in charge of the case.
