A 30-year-old woman fell a short time ago (Saturday) from a height on Hasharon Street in Tel Aviv and her leg was impaled on an iron rod. After complex rescue operations that ended the sawing of the pole, MDA medics and paramedics gave her medical treatment and evacuated her to the Ichilov Hospital in serious condition with bruised limbs while she is sedated and ventilated.
MDA paramedic Nir Grossberd said: “When we arrived at the scene, we saw the woman lying on the fence while she was conscious and an iron rod embedded in her leg. We were told that she fell from a height of several floors and stopped when she was lying on the fence and the pole stuck in her leg. Simultaneously with the rescue operations of the firefighters who cut the pole with special equipment, we climbed a wall to reach the injured woman and gave her life-saving medical treatment that included stopping bleeding, giving fluids and painkillers. As soon as it was possible, she was put in an intensive care unit and we evacuated her to the hospital with the rod still attached to her leg, when her condition is severe and unstable and she is being ventilated.”
