A meeting was held at the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) as part of the fight against cybercrime.
As reported by Day.Az on Friday, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation (CBA) disseminated information about this.
It was noted that the Central Bank continues to implement initiatives to ensure information and cyber security in the financial market.
“Thus, with the joint organization of the Central Bank, the Main Department for Combating Cybercrime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Association of Banks of Azerbaijan, with the participation of representatives of banks and electronic money organizations operating in the country, a meeting was held on preventing fraud cases when using payment cards. During the meeting, current issues in the field of combating cybercrime were discussed.
Speaking at the meeting, Farid Osmanov, Director General of the Central Bank, noted the initiatives implemented by the CBA as part of measures to combat fraud in the field of digital payments. He also emphasized the importance of nationwide educational events conducted taking into account all target groups on issues of fraud when using payment cards.
Speaking at the event, the head of the Main Directorate for Combating Cybercrime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Emil Mekhtiyev noted the importance of strengthening cooperation with banking and financial organizations to prevent cases of cybercrime. Speaking about preventive measures carried out in the field of cyber education, the head of the Main Directorate mentioned the need to increase joint efforts and bring cooperation to a high level to further strengthen work in this area.
During the meeting, a decision was made to create a working group consisting of employees of the Main Directorate for Combating Cybercrime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and representatives of banks to organize joint activities to combat cybercrime, quickly respond to incidents and conduct preventive work,” the CBA said in a statement.
