A workshop titled ‘Role of Media in Building Smart Bangladesh’ was held under the initiative of Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters Forum (BSRF) and organized by Ministry of Public Administration. BCS Administration Academy has given full support in this.

The workshop was held on Thursday (February 15) at the Bangladesh Civil Service Administration Academy in Shahbagh of the capital. Hundreds of BSRF members participated in this workshop from morning to afternoon.

Public Administration Minister Farhad Hossain spoke as the chief guest at the workshop. State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Professor Muhammad Ali Arafat spoke as a special guest.

The public administration minister said that the media is the fourth pillar of the state. Therefore, the development of the country cannot happen without the role of media. Media plays a special role at every level of development. This workshop has been organized so that the journalists working in the secretariat can work more efficiently.

Farhad Hossain urged the media to always present the country’s affairs positively.

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Muhammad Ali Arafat informed about the creation of a database of real journalists. He said that the Bangladesh Press Council is creating a database of who is a journalist and who is not. There should be a list of all journalists in the country.

Rector (Secretary) of BCS Administration Academy gave welcome speech at the workshop. Md. Omar Farooq In the workshop, the session titled ‘Rules of Business/Work Rules and Work Distribution’ was conducted by former senior secretary Aminul Islam Khan. Chief Information Commissioner conducted the session titled ‘Right to Information Act, 2009’. Abdul Malek.

Senior Secretary of Ministry of Public Administration Mejbah Uddin Chowdhury, Senior Secretary of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Humayun Kabir Khondkar, Former Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University AMS Arefin Siddique, President of BSRF Fasih Uddin Mahtab and General Secretary Masudul Haque also spoke in the workshop.
