Dubai: A young expatriate working as a machine mechanic in Abu Dhabi has become Mahsoos’ 29th multi-millionaire by winning the first prize of Dh10,000,000 in the 96th weekly draw. Saad, who has been living in the UAE for the past nine years, has become the second Pakistani national to become a multimillionaire through Mahsoos. Before this, Junaid, a Pakistani national who won the first prize of Dh50,000,000, was the first to win the first prize through Mahsoos. Since then Mahsoos has created 29 multi-millionaires. A total of more than 300,000,000 dirhams were distributed as gifts.

Farid Samji, CEO of Ewings LLC, the managing operator of Mahsoos, announced the latest winner at a press conference held on October 6. He said, ‘We are very happy to have selected yet another deserving grant prize winner from Pakistan.’ He also wished that all those who have big dreams can have the good life they deserve through Mahsoos. He added that the third largest number of Mahsoos customers are Pakistani nationals. More than 190 of them have won the second prize of Dh1 million so far. 12 people were also winners of the raffle draw with a prize of Dh100,000 each.

Saad currently lives with others in accommodation provided by his employer. The 32-year-old is a regular Mahsoos attendee and donates bottled water. Saad’s life changed when all the five numbers selected in the last draw matched. Saad randomly picked the winning numbers 5, 14, 18, 24 and 35. He also asked his wife to pick five numbers for the second entry received through a special offer when she bought a bottle of water for Dh35. His wife chose the numbers carefully but it was Saad’s chosen numbers that made him a millionaire.

Saad, who works as a machine mechanic in an aluminum factory, earns 2000 dirhams per month. Therefore, this gift of 10,000,000 crores is also a relief from his financial problems.

After four years of marriage, Saad is yet to bring his wife to the UAE as he cannot afford a separate accommodation. Therefore, he was staying with others in the accommodation provided by the company.

‘I am the sole support of the family. I have the responsibility to take care of my sick mother, my sick sister whose husband died of brain tumor last year, and my sister’s child”.

While driving at night with his relative and friends, Saad thinks of logging into Mahsoos account to watch the live draw. He was shocked to learn that he had suddenly received a prize of 10,000,000 dirhams. He asked his relative to stop the car suddenly in the middle of the desert to match it. “I am very happy. This unexpected gift came to me when I needed it the most. Thank you Mahsoos for changing my life” – said Saad.

When asked how he plans to use the prize money, he said that he plans to set aside a portion for flood victims in Pakistan and use the remaining money to bring his family to the UAE and start a business with friends.

The second prize of Dh1,000,000 was shared by 110 winners in the 96th draw. 4,102 people won 350 dirhams each. And three lucky winners won AED 300,000 in the raffle draw, which awards three guaranteed prizes to three winners every week. A total of AED 12,735,700 worth of prizes were won by the winners in the 96th draw.

A limited time offer is still on to get a free second entry into the draw with the purchase of a bottle of water worth Dh35. With this offer, customers can choose another set of five numbers. This will double the chances of winning.
