Dubai: A young man died during a clash between illegal liquor sales gangs. The beating with knives and sticks resulted in the death of one of the group. Of the accused arrested by the police, the Dubai Criminal Court sentenced six to 10 years in prison and one to three years in prison.

Court documents show that the dispute was over ‘the right to sell alcohol’ in some areas. One of the accused testified that the problems were caused by some others selling liquor ‘in their area’. When they were interrogated, there was a conflict between the two sides. They said that they did not intend to kill the young man and only intended to injure him.

The forensic report also revealed that the young man’s death was due to heart attack due to injuries and cuts. The court also ordered that all the accused be deported from the UAE after serving their sentence.
