The police recovered the body of the young man with his throat cut from Pater Bagh in Kadmatli of the capital. His name is Mahbub (25). The body was recovered from the paved road of an alley in Minabagh around 12:30 pm on Saturday (August 31). Later sent to Dhaka Medical College Morgue for post mortem.
Habibur Rahman, uncle of deceased Mahbub said, Mahbub’s house is in Jalakandi village of Araihajar upazila of Narayanganj district. His father’s name is Hasan Ali. He lived in Shanirakhra Kazirgaon area of Jatrabari with his wife and one son.
Habibur Rahman said that Mahbub used to work in a welding factory in Daudkandi, Comilla. On Friday afternoon, he left home with his friend Zakir on his motorcycle. Got news this morning that Mahbub’s body is lying on the paved road of Minabagh No. 1 street. They went there and found the slaughtered body of Mahbub. But the relatives could not tell anything about who killed Mahbub. Habibur Rahman said that all the information will come out only if his friend Zakir is caught. Zakir is absconding since the incident.
Deputy Inspector (SI) of Kadmatoli police station. Azahar Hossain said that the body was recovered from the paved road of Minabagh No. 1 lane around 12:30 pm. Initially, it is believed that the unidentified assailants killed the youth by butchering him and slashing him in various parts of the body. The body has been handed over to the family after post-mortem.
