A young man was killed when a forklift overturned near Ibelin in the Western Galilee

by time news

Fire and rescue crews from the Northern District were called at 15:13 to the Ibelin Local Council in the Western Galilee following a report of a man trapped under a forklift.

Three firefighters from a central Galilee station under the command of Reshef Iyad Hanifas rushed to the scene and on arrival identified a man trapped under a forklift apparently due to a rollover.

The firefighters immediately began rescue operations, using dedicated tools and level pads, at the end of which the trapped person was rescued and transferred to the care of medical personnel in a human condition that shortly thereafter determined his death.

The police said that this was a resident of Shefar’am in his 20s who overturned on suspicion when he picked up a vehicle using a forklift during his work in a scrap yard located between the city of Shefar’am and Iblin.

The Israel Police has launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident in collaboration with a Labor Accident Investigator from the Ministry of Labor who was called to the scene.
