Stabbing attack during the holiday: The Israel Police updates that today (Saturday) around 16:30, a terrorist (25), a resident of Salfit, arrived near Nablus Gate Square in East Jerusalem and after approaching a civilian who passed by, pulled out a knife and stabbed him.
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett backed the fighters and said that, “The fighter and the fighter acted as quickly and decisively as expected, in front of a terrorist who tried to murder an Israeli citizen. I fully support both of them and pray for the healing of the wounded.”
Bennett spoke tonight (Saturday) with the Minister of Internal Security, Amar Bar-Lev, and with the Commissioner of Police, Chief of Staff Yaakov Shabtai, following the attack in Jerusalem.
The Prime Minister was updated on the findings of the initial investigation carried out following the attack on the Nablus Gate, and instructed to continue to take the necessary actions to prevent a flare-up on the ground.
Foreign Minister Yair Lapid also commented on the attack: “Strengthening the security forces and Border Police fighters who acted quickly tonight, strived for contact with determination and brought an end to the criminal terrorist incident at the Nablus Gate, and saved lives. Completely backs up our warriors and warriors. “Terrorists are not allowed to rage throughout Jerusalem and anywhere else in the country. I wish a speedy recovery to the wounded from the stabbing incident.”
Police stressed that the vigilance and quick response of the police officers led to the neutralization of the terrorist, who was shot and killed. As a result of the stabbing attack, a civilian was evacuated in a moderate-difficult manner for medical treatment at Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem. Large police forces under the command of Jerusalem District Commander Superintendent Doron Turgeman arrived at the scene and recently, the district commander had a special situation assessment together with the commanders at the scene.

MDA reported that at 4:28 PM, a report was received at MDA’s 101 hotline in the Jerusalem area, about a young man who was stabbed at the Nablus Gate in Jerusalem. MDA medics and paramedics provided medical treatment and evacuated to Shaare Zedek Hospital a young Haredi boy about 20 years old, in moderate to severe condition, with stab wounds to his body. The terrorist was shot and neutralized.
MDA paramedic on a MDA motorcycle, Israel Weingarten, said: “I was near the Nablus gate and I was rushed to the scene. I saw a 20-year-old ultra-Orthodox young man in full consciousness. He suffered stab wounds to his body. “He was vigorous and we evacuated him to the hospital when his condition was moderate to serious.”
The commander of the Border Police, Superintendent Amir Cohen, said: “In recent days, there have been several attempts by terrorists to harm fighters and civilians. The fighters acted resolutely, sought contact and ended the incident by preventing a larger attack on civilians and fighters. “As required for the incident, they brought about the neutralization of the terrorist and prevented him from further harming the fighters and civilians who were at the scene.”
