A YouTuber managed to make the Z Fold 4 look like a Windows Phone device

by time news

Although Microsoft officially announced the end of Windows Phone more than two years ago, it turns out that there are users who still miss the colorful interface that Microsoft developed for phones – and of course it is hard to say that it became a great success.

Some even miss it enough to spend quite a bit of time and effort trying the newest and most advanced Android devices on the market to look like they’re running Windows Phone.

This is exactly what the YouTuber did Mark Sporrel, who received Samsung’s foldable Galaxy Z Fold 4 (Samsung), and immediately got down to business. The operating system itself, of course, cannot be installed on the device, and therefore Sporel contented himself with installing various plugins and launchers, as well as changes in the settings of the digital assistant Bixby, until a fairly convincing result was obtained.

In fact, in “open” mode, the device displays an interface that never existed on Windows Phone devices and is more reminiscent of the desktop version of the operating system with a Start button and a list of applications. One can certainly imagine Windows Phone being upgraded to such an interface, if Microsoft continued to develop the operating system.

The video shows all the details necessary to make any Z Fold device look like a Windows Phone-based phone – and no special programming knowledge is required.
