Highway Closed after two-Vehicle Collision Causes Injuries Near Braga

A major traffic disruption occurred Thursday evening after a two-vehicle accident forced the complete closure of a key highway connecting Braga and Barcelos. The incident, reported around 6:30 pm local time, resulted in one serious injury and another minor injury, prompting a swift response from emergency services.
The violence of the crash necessitated a full shutdown of the highway for approximately an hour and a half, creating significant traffic congestion and delays for commuters.According to reports, the standstill stretched for several kilometers in both directions.
Emergency Response and Victim Assistance
Barcelinhos Firefighters were immediately dispatched to the scene and worked diligently to assist those involved. First responders found one individual imprisoned within a vehicle and required specialized equipment for extraction. A senior official stated that the seriously injured victim received on-site stabilization before being transported to a local hospital for further medical attention.
