The digital process for submitting and managing the Transit Log of foreign-flagged private vessels is being put into operation, in accordance with the decision A. 1124/2024 of the commander of Independent Public Revenue AuthorityGeorge Pitsilis.

In particular, the procedure concerns private pleasure boats, with a total length of more than 7 meters, sailing in Greek portsregarding the submission and management of a traffic report

1. Limited validity, if:

  • carry the flag of a third country and belong or are owned by persons established in a third country / or carry the flag of another member state and belong to persons established in a third country
  • the customs duties attributable to them have not been paid

2. Indefinite validity, if:

  • they bear the flag of a third country and belong to persons established in a third country or in an EU member state
  • the customs duties applicable to them have been paid.

According to the current legislation, vessels with these characteristics are required to submit a “Transit Log” to the competent Customs Office, in order to move freely in Greek territorial waters. Now, the process of submitting the Notice and the relevant supporting documents is completed in a few minutes on the digital portal myAADE (myaade.gov.gr) under Applications > Customs Services > Transit Log – Transit Log.

The new digital process significantly reduces Transit Log issuance times, facilitating the entry into the country of foreign travelers with pleasure boats. Indicatively, it is stated that in 2022 8,033 Movement Bulletins were issued, in 2023 10,132 Bulletins were issued, while in the current year 4,529 Bulletins have already been issued so far.

At the same time, the appropriate conditions are created for the digital management and exchange of the necessary information between the AADE and the Port Authorities of the Ministry of Shipping and Insular Policy, enabling more targeted and effective controls by the AADE services.
