Suhani Bhatnagar played the role of teenager Babita in Aamir Khan starrer ‘Dangal’. He died at the age of 19 on Saturday (February 17). After that various Indian media claimed that Suhani died due to wrong treatment. Since then the matter has been vigorously pursued.

Meanwhile, Suhani’s father Sumit Bhatnagar told the Indian news agency PTI that Suhani died of a rare disease, dermatomyositis, rather than wrong treatment.

Describing the incident, Sumit Bhatnagar said, ‘Two months ago, Suhani’s hand started to grow red. We thought it was an allergy problem. Then contact the doctor. I visited several doctors in Faridabad, but could not diagnose any disease. When his physical condition deteriorated, he was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIM). But even there he was not making any progress. Rather, due to excess water accumulation, his respiratory system is damaged. Later he was put on ventilator support but it did not work.

Dermatomyositis is a rare disease that causes muscle weakness and skin rashes. Sumit Bhatnagar’s claim – this disease has been detected in the body of 5-6 people in the world.

Prasad Kuran Suhani played the role of teenager Babita Phogat in the movie ‘Dangal’. The movie also had Aamir Khan, Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Sheikh, Sania Malhotra and Zaira Wasim as co-stars. Apart from that, Suhani has acted in several commercials. Took a break from acting to study. The plan was that Suhani would return to acting after completing her studies.
