New Delhi : National party status within a decade of coming into existence. The enthusiasm of leaders, workers and supporters is at its peak. Meanwhile, elections are held in the party chief’s home state. Party supremo coming out of jail just before the elections. A flurry of populist promises. Expectations were high, but the results were completely opposite. By now you must have understood that the discussion here is about Haryana Assembly elections and Aam Aadmi Party. When Arvind Kejriwal, who was jailed in the Delhi Excise Policy case, came out of jail just a few days before voting in his home state Haryana, the party had hopes that this time it would not only open its account but would also become the kingmaker. But this could not happen. The party does not seem to be even touching the 2 percent vote share mark. Aam Aadmi Party has been looking at Haryana as a state where there may be an opportunity for it. Firstly, it is adjacent to Delhi and Punjab where there are Aam Aadmi Party governments, and secondly, Haryana is the home state of Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal. With this confidence, AAP tried to make a pre-poll agreement with Congress but the matter got stuck on seat sharing.

Aam Aadmi Party also did not wait much and started releasing the list of its candidates. Contested elections on 89 out of 90 seats in Haryana but this time too she could not open her account. The only matter of satisfaction for the party can be that last time in Haryana, Aam Aadmi Party was able to get less votes even through NOTA, but this time it seems to be getting more votes through NOTA.
The vote share of Aam Aadmi Party in Haryana seems to be around one and a half percent. During the elections, Aam Aadmi Party stalwarts like Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia had given their full strength in Haryana. There were huge road shows and election rallies but the party seems to have failed even to open its account. Although the counting is still going on, but after the counting is completed, it will not be surprising if Aam Aadmi Party’s deposits are confiscated on all the seats.

On this, Aam Aadmi Party, which contested on 89 seats, had won on 46 seats in the 2019 Haryana Assembly elections. Even then the party had failed to open the account, even now it does not seem to be opening the account.
