Lahore: Australia won the lone T20I match against Pakistan (PAK vs AUS). Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore: The visitors won by three wickets. Pakistan lost the toss and opted to bat, scoring 162 for eight in the allotted overs. In reply, Australia chased down the target by seven wickets in 19.1 overs. Captain Aaron Finch (55) led the team to victory.
Dravid Head (26) and Finch gave Australia a good start in the opening over. Both scored 40 runs for the first wicket. Head’s innings consisted of three fours and a six off 14 balls. Usman Qadir was caught by Harris Rauf. Josh Inglis (24), who came in third at the crease, put in a better performance. Finch added 44 for the third wicket.
But Inglis came back with a ball from Qadir. Marquez Stones (23 off 9 balls) and Ben McDermott (22) were the next to shine. Meanwhile, Marnus Labuschain (2) and Sean Abbott (0) were out. Finch also took wickets for Shaheen Afridi. However, McDermott led Ben Dwarz (0) to victory. Qadir, Shefeen Afridi and Mohammad Waseem took two wickets each. Harris Rauf has one wicket.
Earlier, skipper Babur Assam (66 off 46 balls) hit a half-century to take Pakistan to 162. Khushdil Shah (24) and Mohammad Rizwan (23) were the better performers. Nathan Ellis took four wickets for Pakistan. In addition to Khushdil, Ellis returned Iftikhar Ahmed (13), Asif Ali (3) and Shaheen Afridi (0). Cameron Green took two wickets and Adam Sampa one. Earlier in the day, Australia won the Test series 1-0. But the ODI series was won by Australia.
After the tour, the Australian players can now play in the IPL. Cricket Australia has also banned players from playing in the series during the series.
