Aaron Rodgers Secures Much-Needed Win for Green Bay against the Bears and Then Declares Chicago His Second Home

by time news

It seems that no matter how poor a season Green Bay is having, and this looks like being the worst they’ve experienced since 2008, they can almost always count on getting a victory in Chicago.

One man who certainly can’t get enough of taking on the Bears is Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who now has a 24-5 record against them. Green Bay is now 5-8 for the season and will need to produce an almost flawless run-in if they are to make it into the wild card slots.

If you are a Green Bay fan who wants to gamble on the possibility of a miraculous run to the post-season, then check out www.sidelines.io to find the best odds around and then pray that veteran Rodgers can make your dreams come true.

39-year-old Rodgers is coming off back-to-back NFL MVP seasons, and therefore the slip in fortunes at the Lambeau Field is something of a shock, but the outspoken NFL star was in high spirits following his team’s 28-19 win at Soldier Field and couldn’t resist rubbing salt into Chicago Bears’ wounds.

“You never know when it’s going to be the last one. They’ve got great fans here in Chicago, but it truly has been a second home for me. We’ve had a lot of big wins here over the years and a lot of great moments. It’s fun to come back here, get a win, and let the fans know I’m still here.”

Rodgers completed 18 of 31 passes, and the fourth-quarter comeback, which saw the Packers outscore the Bears 18-0, would have pleased under-fire head coach Matt LaFleur.

Next up for the Packers comes the visit of reigning Super Bowl champions, the Los Angeles Rams, and it’s an encounter LaFleur is getting mentally prepared for.

“I think you look at the totality of the scheme,”

“Obviously, we’ve played each other quite a bit over the last couple of years, or twice in the last two years. There’s a lot of familiarity within the (coaching) staffs of; a lot of us have worked together, and so we kind of know what we like. But sometimes, you can overthink things as well. There’s a lot of similarities, whether it’s offensively or on defense in the schemes. It’s going to come down to who can go out there and execute the best.”

The Rams are having a miserable time of it this season, and at 4-9 and bottom of the NFC West, there is little chance of post-season action for Sean McVay’s team.

Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers has found himself in the bizarre position of rooting for a rival side, the San Francisco 49ers, after their win over the Seattle Seahawks aided Green Bay’s wildcard push;

“We’re gonna be tuning in Thursday and rooting for one team we don’t usually root for,”

It’s certainly a position that is alien to Rodgers, who has led the Packers to three successive 13-3 regular season finishes in the games he’s started.
