Riyadh: Saudi woman Abeer Al Akhlin has been appointed as the new CEO of AlUla Royal Commission, the administrative institution of AlUla, an important archaeological area in Saudi Arabia. Abeer’s appointment replaces former CEO Amt bin Saleh Abdulrahman Almadani, who was ousted following allegations of abuse of power and corruption.

Abir Al Akhl, who joined the AlUla Royal Commission in 2017, was currently the Head of the Special Initiatives and Partnerships Sector. He has also worked as the Head of Strategic Delivery Department in the Commission. She holds a degree in Computer Science from King Saud University and has completed a leadership development course from Harvard University. He has held many leadership positions since then. He has held the positions of Head of Information Systems Department, Head of Production Department at Saab Bank and Senior Head at PricewaterhouseCoopers International Limited.
