Former forward Abel Balbo was one step away from returning to direct Central Córdoba in Santiago del Estero, where he was in 2022 and where he would replace the outgoing Omar de Felippe.
Balbo was very close to arriving at Tigre, instead of Lucas Pusineri, but the formal offer made to him by the “Ferroviario” leadership convinced him to return to Santiago, club sources reported.
After his departure last year from the northern club, Balbo coached Estudiantes de La Plata, where he did not have a good performance since of the 7 games in which he coached, he won 2, tied 2 and lost 3.
During his time at Central Córdoba in the 2022 season, the 57-year-old former forward saved him from relegation, claimed 8 victories, tied 2 games and lost 8 times.
