The Hospital de Especialidades Guayaquil Dr. Abel Gilbert Pontón of the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), within the framework of strengthening, optimizing and reducing the surgical waiting list, guarantees minimally invasive urological surgeries by laparoscopic approach to the population.
The removal of renal tumors is carried out after the preparation and evaluation of the patients by specialists, under the analysis of the results of laboratory tests, tomographies, among others.
Pablo González, care director and specialist in urology, indicates that after evidencing the presence of kidney tumors and the corresponding evaluations, the patient is scheduled through admissions, assigning the date of intervention.
This type of surgeries have a special characteristic, they are quick to recover, maintaining an average of one or two days of evolution and patients can return to their homes to carry out their daily activities normally.
“I started my treatment when I began to urinate a reddish tone, the specialists discovered that I had a kidney tumor and scheduled my surgery, then they removed the tumor in its entirety and I returned home two days later. I feel good, I lead my normal life, I visit the doctor constantly and now I have a calm life, I am grateful for this hospital,” said patient Dayana V.
The Ministry of Health continues with the reactivation of services, guaranteeing that patients with surgical needs have access to procedures quickly, efficiently and effectively.
