Abhijeet Dipke Seeks Reconciliation With Diljit Dosanjh After Dispute

Singer Diljit Dosanjh and Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke are moving toward a public reconciliation after a dispute over Dosanjh’s political neutrality. Following Dosanjh’s warning to a Delhi crowd on October 30, 2026, not to teach Punjabis how to fight, Dipke used Instagram to ask the singer to overlook the row as an older brother would a younger one.

Dosanjh expected his critics to respect his silence on social issues, but he faced a crowd of more than 70,000 fans at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium who had mocked his work on stage during the opening night of the Aura India Tour 2026.

Dosanjh Defends Silence and Satluj

Dosanjh responded to a long-standing controversy regarding his reluctance to align with specific political protests during the concert. According to reporting from ABP News, he asked critics to let him remain silent if he chose, stating, I love you all because I am an artist, brother. I am silent, so let me be silent. I support you all. But don’t teach Punjabis how to fight.

The singer also defended his film Satluj, which depicts the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. Dosanjh noted that his team fought a lengthy legal and moral battle with the censor board for the project.

The film you are making fun of on stage, the film of Jaswant Singh Khalra — we struggled for a long time for that film. I love you all. If someone hates us, it’s okay. But I love you all.

Dipke Seeks Peace

Abhijeet Dipke posted a detailed note on Instagram seeking to end the dispute after the concert. Dipke admitted he had criticized Dosanjh’s perceived “duplicity” for appearing in political films while remaining neutral during student protests, though he clarified his frustration came from respect for the singer.

Dipke attended Dosanjh’s concert in Chicago in May 2026, shortly before returning to India. He wrote that a single disagreement does not diminish his admiration for the singer’s ability to bring Indian culture to a global stage.

Brother, please forgive me considering me a younger brother. And in the end, I just want to say— ‘Gabru ta vairi nu vi mitha bolda, ni tu ta pher jatt da pyar goriye’ (A brave youth speaks sweetly even to his enemy, then you are the love of a Jatt).

NEET Paper Leak Timeline

The conflict centered on Dosanjh’s response to students protesting against alleged irregularities and the NEET paper leak at Jantar Mantar. Tension between the artist and the CJP leadership began in June 2026.

  • June 2026: During an Instagram Live session, Dosanjh was asked if he would join the student protests. He reportedly replied that he is an artist, not a politician, and asked to be kept away from such activities.
  • July 2026: CJP members expressed anger over the comment. On July 12, when singer Kaka visited Jantar Mantar in support of the protests, Dipke remarked that artists often support movements only to prevent their films from being banned.
  • October 30, 2026: Dosanjh addressed the “I am an artist” remark and the CJP’s criticism during his Delhi concert.
  • October 31, 2026: Dipke issued a public apology and a request to end the row.

Delhi Show Proceeds Before Tour Moves to Indore

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (South District) office rejected the concert’s application on October 22, citing security concerns. The Delhi show eventually proceeded and lasted approximately six hours.

The tour continues with a scheduled performance in Indore on November 15, with tickets starting at 3,500 rupees. Other upcoming stops include Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Lucknow, with Chandigarh dates expected soon.

It is not yet known if Dosanjh will issue a detailed public response to Dipke’s apology.
