(24 News) Rumours of divorce have recently surfaced regarding renowned Bollywood actors Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. However, the reason behind the couple’s impending separation has been revealed.
According to Indian media, Abhishek Bachchan was previously involved with his co-star Karisma Kapoor before his marriage to the renowned actress Aishwarya Rai. However, following their engagement, when Karisma’s career reached its peak, a rift emerged between the two.
The report suggests that Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek’s mother, imposed a condition during their engagement that Karisma Kapoor would refrain from working in films post-marriage. Karisma’s mother, Babita Kapoor, opposed this condition, expressing concern for her daughter’s flourishing career. Additionally, at the time, Amitabh Bachchan was burdened with debt, leading Babita Kapoor to fear that her daughter’s financial security would be compromised by joining the Bachchan family.
The report further claims that Babita Kapoor had insisted on the Bachchan family transferring a portion of Amitabh Bachchan’s property to Abhishek Bachchan to ensure Karisma Kapoor’s financial stability after marriage. Her disapproval, coupled with Karisma’s refusal to comply with the condition, ultimately led to the breakdown of their engagement.
Sanjay Kapoor, Karisma’s brother, has two children, Sameera and Kayan Kapoor. In contrast, Abhishek Bachchan married Aishwarya Rai in 2007, and their daughter, Aaradhya, was born in 2011.
