Pakistan cricketer Abid Ali has been admitted to hospital with chest pains while batting. Abid suffered a chest injury while batting for Central Punjab in the final round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Pakistan’s domestic cricket tournament.

In the match against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Abid experienced discomfort and chest pain while batting and returned to the dressing room with the team manager. Abid was later shifted to a hospital where he underwent specialist treatment. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that Abid has Acute Coronary Syndrome, a condition in which his heart fails when he has a blood clot, and that Abid is being treated by doctors.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a statement that the player’s health should not be a concern and his family’s privacy should be respected. As a precautionary measure, the Pak board said in a statement that Abid had undergone all the preliminary tests and that there were no complications.
