Lahore: Pakistan cricketer Abid Ali has been admitted to hospital with chest pain. Abid, 34, suffered chest pain while batting for Central Punjab in the final round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Pakistan’s domestic tournament.

Abid, who suffered from discomfort and chest pain while batting against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for 61, returned to the dressing room with the team manager after batting. Abid was later shifted to a hospital where he underwent specialist treatment. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a statement that Abid had been diagnosed with acute coronary syndrome and was being treated by doctors.
