Lula and Bolsonaro voters agree on some issues, shows Datafolha

shows that voters of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) agree when asked about topics such as the link between politics and religious values, homosexuality and benefits to criminals.

According to the data, they disagree, however, on the possibility of the country becoming communist and on the right to have weapons. Other topics divide the public analyzed by the institute, such as abortion and possible benefits brought by the military dictatorship.

According to statistics, 75% of respondents (among all groups) say they are in favor, totally or in part, of accepting homosexuality. Similar to this index, there is the idea that the family is only made up of men and women, which has 72% agreement.

Among Bolsonaro voters, 44% fully agree and 26% partially agree with accepting people with another sexuality. However, 71% fully believe, and 13% partially, that a family should be made up of people of different genders.

Among Lula voters, the exclusively heterosexual family has greater divergence, but is still well accepted, with 27% totally disagreeing and 8% partially disagreeing with the idea.

According to Datafolha, 46% of Lula supporters totally agree with the link between politics and religion for the country’s development. Totally disagree 24%.

Among Bolsonarists, 51% are in favor of the idea and 19% are unfavorable.

Brazil asked respondents if, in Brazil, there is a lot of stewardship for bandits and most of them said yes. According to Datafolha, 84% of bolsonaristas and 58% of lulistas agreed with the statement.

The limits of freedom of expression
on social networks is one of the topics that divide opinions in both groups. Among all respondents, 61% say it is not possible to publish anything on the internet, while 38% think it is.

They disagree with unrestricted freedom on the networks: 54% of Bolsonaristas and 66% of Lulistas.

For 73% of the ex-president’s voters, there is the possibility that the country will become communist, with 51% totally agreeing, and 22%, partially. Among those who voted for the current president, 31% of respondents agree that there is a chance.

Between the voters
of the petista, 61% are against the right to own a gun, while 67% of Bolsonaristas are in favor.

A woman’s right to choose abort
is better accepted among voters of the current Chief Executive, with 54% adherence. Among Bolsonaro voters, the majority are unfavorable to the idea, with 63% being partially or totally against it.

In relation to the military dictatorship, which took place between 1964 and 1985, there is also division: 55% of lulistas are totally or partially against the idea that the period brought benefits to the country. The number goes to 40% among Bolsonaristas.

To carry out the survey, the Datasheet
heard 2,010 people in 112 cities, between the 12th and 14th of June. The margin of error is plus or minus two percentage points.
