At least 15,000 residential buildings were left without electricity in central and eastern Japan due to downpours caused by Typhoon Mindul. Power outages occurred in the prefectures of Shizuoka, Kanagawa, Tokyo, Chiba and Ibaraki. The largest number of blackouts was recorded in Chiba, where about 6.2 thousand houses were left without electricity.

According to the NHK TV channel, which TASS refers to, due to the typhoon, 13 people were injured in Kanagawa and Ibaraki. Most of the victims are elderly people over 70 years of age who have been injured as a result of falls. Earlier, due to the typhoon, more than 120 flights were canceled at Tokyo’s Haneda airport. Ferry services in Tokyo Bay have been suspended.

Typhoon moves along the Pacific coast of Japan. The wind speed within its limits is 45-60 m / s. It is expected that on the night of October 2 and October 3, the typhoon will pass east of the Kuril Islands, RIA Novosti reports.
