About a week after the stabbing attack on a bus in the Ramot neighborhood, the wounded man was released to his home with his mouth full of thanks to the Israel Defense Forces and the medical team for saving his life | Director of the trauma unit at Shaari Tzedek: “Eliezer suffered penetrating and life-threatening injuries and he recovered from all of them and is still recovering”

Good news from the Shaarei Zedek Hospital: About a week after being moderately injured in a stabbing attack on a bus in the Ramot neighborhood of Jerusalem last Tuesday, Eliezer (Elliot) Melish met shortly before his release from the hospital with the staff of the trauma unit and the surgical department at the Shaarei Zedek Medical Center who treated him and with the passenger who neutralized the terrorist and saved his life.

Dr. Alon Schwartz, director of the trauma unit at Shaare Zedek Medical Center, said upon Eliezer’s release: “We are very happy with Eliezer’s quick recovery. We treated him with dedication, the teams of doctors, nurses, psychologists and social workers. Eliezer suffered penetrating and life-threatening injuries and from all of them he recovered and is still recovering. We will continue to monitor his condition even after release.”

Eliezer himself said before leaving the hospital: “I want to thank the rescue teams that treated me in the field, the dedicated medical team that saved my life and gave me sensitive and dedicated care, the charity organizations like one family and the social workers, all of these gave me the strength to recover so well , and gave me the feeling that I’m not alone. I don’t have enough words to thank you for leaving here like this today.”

As I recall last Tuesday, shortly before 5:00 PM, the rescue forces were called to treat a man who was stabbed inside a bus on Golda Meir Boulevard in Jerusalem. MDA medics and paramedics provided medical treatment and evacuated a 41-year-old man to Shaare Zedek Hospital in moderate condition with stab wounds. The hospital informed that the injured man arrived at the trauma unit with several stab wounds to his upper body and his life is not in danger.

The public is called to pray for the healing of Eliezer Ben Liva who was hospitalized at ‘Shaari Zedek’ and by the grace of heaven today at noon he was released to his home to continue his recovery.
