The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the former Libyan government, Hassan Al-Saghir, sent a letter to the director of Al-Wataniya channel, Otaf Al-Tashani, about the immoral broadcast incident.
Al-Saghir said: “Yesterday, she issued her instructions to investigate the immoral broadcast, and today she comes out with a televised statement to say that she is the first responsible and that there is no justification for such a mistake.”
And the Libyan diplomat continued: “Did the investigations end and prove that she was at fault?? Or were the instructions for the investigation an attempt to contain the scandal, and when it did not work, it hastened with a superficial apology??
Al-Saghir added: “In her letter in which she requested the investigation, she concluded with the need to hold the wrongdoers accountable, refer them to the disciplinary councils, and take legal measures against them.
The appearance of a children’s cartoon on Libya’s national channel caused great anger and indignation, as social media activists poured out their anger on the channel’s management, because it contained scenes of kisses between a girl and a young man, while the channel’s management contented itself with opening an investigation.
Activists launched a violent attack on the channel, considering that the broadcast of the film is evidence of moral decline and encouragement for children to engage in sexual practices.
