Beitar Jerusalem continues to get used to the Barak Abramov era. After a long saga and a lot of bureaucracy, the former owners of Bnei Yehuda purchased the club from the hands of Moshe Hogg, when he accepted the conditions of the police and thus saved the team from disbandment and relegation to the First League at the very last moment.
The Israel Police reported today (Monday) that Abramov deposited five million shekels into the confiscation fund this afternoon, as he requested, while the balance, amounting to an additional five million, will be transferred in checks spread over two years. “Today it was proven once again that patience and standing up for the public interest pays off and proves itself,” it was said.
The yellow-blacks set out on a new path as Abramov completed his purchase at the very last moment after the intervention of MK Nir Barkat. The team has already played one game under the new owner when they lost 2:1 to Hapoel Tel Aviv in Bloomfield, now they will try to complete the preparations properly.
