The Deputy Prime Minister of the National Unity Government and the Minister-designate of Health, Ramadan Abu Jannah, said that the Ministry had completed the tender for the lost specialized and general medicines that the state needed, and had submitted previously non-compliant offers.

He pointed out during the joint press conference he held with the Director of the Pharmacy Department at the Ministry of Health, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Medical Supply Authority, and the Chairman of the Public Tender Committee to announce the implementation of the state’s public tender, that “the Ministry will receive the participants’ envelopes on April 15-17, as the number of companies has exceeded 225 companies participated in the waste tender.

According to the page of the Libyan Ministry of Health, Ramadan Abu Jannah explained, “The Ministry has completed two parts of the general tender items, namely diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine, and the procedure has entered into administrative implementation,” pointing out that the tender for specialized supplies for intensive care and anesthesia rooms has been approved for entry into the documentary cycle, and will be completed in soon”.

He explained, “The Public Tender Committee was formed at the end of 2022 to review the work of the Supreme Committee to Supervise Public Tendering, pointing out that the Ministry has begun contracting directly with manufacturing companies and providing medical supply items.”

He said: “The technical committee for reviewing the public tender reviewed, within five months, the items for specialized and general medicines, which constitute the two most important parts within the public tender, as the focus was on introducing the most in-demand and most widely traded oncology medicines within the country.”

The Acting Minister of Health added, “Last May, the Public Tender Committee began completing a review of the work of the Technical Committee, and completed the signing of 122 contracts with direct manufacturers, including 78 contracts for specialized medicines and the rest for general medicines. Credits were opened for most of them within the Central Bank of Libya, and the rest are pending.” “Achievement.”

He pointed out that “the contracts were transferred in 7 batches, as many types of medicines arrived at the stores of the General Administration of the Medical Supply System,” pointing out that “10 types of specialized medicines were received to the stores of the Medical Supply System, including medicines for treating patients with: tumors, diabetes, rheumatism, and kidneys. And dialysis agents, intensive care medications, neurological medications, kidney transplantation, types of medications for treating epilepsy patients, types of fluid medications, and hormones.”
