The Palestinian leadership gathered (Saturday) led by the “President of the State of Palestine” Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) to discuss the security developments against the background of the two terrorist attacks in Jerusalem in the Neve Ya’akov neighborhood and in the City of David.
In a statement issued at the end of the meeting, it was stated that the Palestinian leadership places full responsibility on the Israeli occupation government for the dangerous escalation that the situation has led to due to its crimes that have reached 31 martyrs in the last month, the continuation of colonial settlement activity, the annexation of the lands, the demolition of houses, the arrests, the policy of ethnic cleansing and racial segregation , the desecration of the holy places of Islam and Christianity and the invasions of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
The Palestinian leadership stated that “this policy is the result of the Israeli occupation government evading its commitment to implement the signed agreements and violating international legitimacy decisions.”
Also, “the (Palestinian) leadership warned the occupation government against continuing this approach, which will lead to further deterioration, and threaten security and stability in the entire region.”
The Palestinian leadership called on the international community and the American government to force the “Israeli occupation government” to stop its unilateral actions and lead “to the end of the Israeli occupation of the land of the State of Palestine within the 1967 borders
including East Jerusalem”.
It should be noted that the Palestinian leadership’s announcement did not express any condemnation of the terrorist acts carried out by Palestinians in Jerusalem. The announcement concluded with the following statement: “The Palestinian leadership salutes the Palestinian people everywhere for their steadfastness, steadfastness and peaceful popular resistance.”
