AC Milan is pleased to announce that it has definitively acquired the sporting services of the player Emerson Aparecido Leite de Souza Junior, better known as Emerson Royal, from Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. The Brazilian defender has signed a contract with the Rossoneri Club until June 30, 2028, with an option for another year.
Born in São Paulo (Brazil) on January 14, 1999, Emerson Royal grew up in the Youth Sector of Ponte Preta, making his First Team debut in February 2017, and totaling 25 appearances and 1 goal over two seasons. In 2018, he moved to Atlético Mineiro (23 appearances and 1 goal) and in January 2019 he transferred to Real Betis, where he made 79 appearances and scored 5 goals. After a brief stint at Barcelona, he has been wearing the Tottenham jersey since 2021, collecting 101 appearances and 4 goals.
He has 10 appearances with the Brazilian National Team, having made his debut in November 2019.
Emerson Royal will wear the number 22 red-and-black jersey.
