Kozhikode: One person died in an accident where a tipper lorry and a bike collided at Thamarassery pass and fell into Koka. Kottayangal Rashid (24) of Wayanad Sultan Batheri Chulli died. Sharif, who was traveling with Rashid in Bek, was seriously injured in the accident. The accident took place at 3 pm on Monday at Thakarapadikum under the 9th turn of the Thamarassery pass.
The bike on which the youth was returning to Wayanad from Kozhikode collided with the Tipperlory which was coming down the pass. Both of them were thrown from the bike due to the impact of the thunder and fell into the gorge which is more than thirty feet deep.
The young people were brought up under the leadership of passengers and volunteers who came to know about the accident. Two fire rescue units from Kalpetta reached the spot and participated in the rescue operation
Sheriff is currently Kozhikode Govt. He is undergoing treatment at the Medical College Hospital.
